Prolozone uses ozone to stimulate the healing process and the proliferation (growth, formation) of new ligament tissue in the region that has become weak. Healing substances and ozone gas are injected into damaged or weakened connective tissue in and around the joints. These substances stimulate circulation, increase blood flow carrying nutrients and hydrate damaged tissue.
This allows for a healing environment within the joint or tissue to develop and results in increased range of motion and decreased pain.
After your initial exam your medical provider may need to order x-ray prior to treatment.
You will be scheduled for your first injection. Often times it may only take one injections to relieve the pain, however it make take up to 5 weekly appointments for optimal results.
